Project Objective

The client aimed to modernize underground mining operations by developing a platform that digitizes the blast design and drilling verification process. The objective was to enable mine engineers to create precise blast designs, validate drilled holes against the original plan, and generate detailed deviation reports. This platform was envisioned to reduce human error, enhance safety, and streamline the blasting workflow—ultimately improving operational efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making in underground mining environments.

Our Approach

We developed a robust underground blasting and drilling platform that empowers mining engineers with advanced design, analysis, and simulation tools. Users can import high-resolution LiDAR models and create ring blast designs using customizable parameters, ensuring precise placement and spatial limitations. The platform calculates design volumes and allows users to simulate material filling, providing accurate material volume estimations. Once drilling is complete, the system enables side-by-side comparisons between the planned and actual drill data, highlighting deviations and recalculating volumes for enhanced accuracy. The blast simulation feature visualizes timing sequences, allowing engineers to preview and optimize blast execution. Additionally, a dynamic heatmap visualization tool provides insight into blast coverage and effectiveness, while predictive reporting estimates model recovery percentages—delivering actionable insights for decision-making and operational planning.
